Ali also emphized the public health education as a promotive and preventive effort to improve the quality of life.
"People need to be aware of healthy and clean living habits by routinely checking their health, avoiding cigarette smoke, staying active, maintaining a balanced diet, getting enough rest, and managing stress," he explained.
Jakarta Health Agency Head, Ani Ruspitawati, revealed that in celebration of Jakarta's 498th Anniversary, free medical check-ups were provided to 300 Rusunawa Rawa Bebek residents, including cervical cancer screening for 200 women.
"This screening acts as an early detection to prevent cervical cancer," she mentioned.
Aside from free check-ups at Rusunawa Rawa Bebek, her side also provided free cleft lip surgeries for 47 residents.
"There were also 303 cataract surgeries and mass circumcisions for 585 children," she added.
East Jakarta Health Sub-agency head, Herrwin Meifendy, also mentioned that 40 health workers including doctors, nurses, and midwives were deployed to support the free check-ups.
"An ambulance was also on standby.
This one-day health service received great enthusiasm from Rusunawa residents," he said.One of the residents of Rusunawa Rawa Bebek Tower B, Anita (30), said she was grateful for the mobile health services.
"We are very grateful for this free health service," she expressed.
